Participant Terms & Health Declaration

These Participant Terms & Health Declaration apply to all attendees participating in Pilates events, workshops, classes and related activities organised by Anna Fawcett trading as The Pilates Print (“we", "us", "our").
By purchasing a ticket and attending an event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Participant Terms & Health Declaration.
1. Eligibility
Participation is restricted to individuals aged 18 years or over.
By purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old on the date of the event.
2. Health & Fitness Declaration
By attending the event, you confirm that:
- You believe you are physically capable of participating in Pilates and movement-based activities.
- You understand that Pilates involves physical exertion and movement.
- You will participate within your own capabilities and limits.
- You are responsible for monitoring your own physical condition throughout the event.
- You will stop participating and inform the instructor immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, discomfort, illness, or any other concerning symptoms.
If you have any concerns about your health, fitness, or suitability to participate, you should seek appropriate medical advice before attending.
3. Medical Conditions, Injuries, Pregnancy & Postnatal Participation
These events are designed for healthy adults who are fit to participate in general Pilates and movement-based exercise.
These events are not suitable for:
- Individuals who are pregnant.
- Individuals in the postnatal recovery period.
- Individuals with current injuries that may be affected or aggravated by physical activity.
- Individuals who have been advised by a healthcare professional not to participate in exercise.
By purchasing a ticket and attending the event, you confirm that:
- You are not pregnant.
- You are not currently in a postnatal recovery period.
- You do not have an injury or medical condition that would make participation unsafe or unsuitable.
- You have not been advised by a healthcare professional to avoid physical exercise.
If you are unsure whether participation is appropriate for you, you should seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before booking or attending.
You agree to inform us before participating if you have any medical condition, injury, or circumstance that may affect your ability to participate safely.
We reserve the right to refuse participation where we reasonably believe participation may present a risk to the individual or others.
4. Understanding the Risks of Participation
You acknowledge that participation in Pilates and movement-based exercise involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Muscle soreness
- Muscle strains
- Sprains
- Falls
- Slips and trips
- Fatigue
- Aggravation of existing conditions
- Other minor or serious injuries
You voluntarily choose to participate and accept the ordinary risks associated with physical exercise and movement activities.
5. Participant Responsibilities
For the safety and wellbeing of all attendees, you agree to:
- Follow all instructions and guidance provided by the instructor.
- Exercise within your own abilities and limitations.
- Inform the instructor of any concerns, injuries, or discomfort during the session.
- Use any equipment and facilities responsibly.
- Treat fellow participants, instructors, and venue staff with respect.
We reserve the right to refuse participation or remove an attendee whose behaviour may present a risk to themselves or others.
6. Emergency Medical Assistance
In the event of illness, injury, or another emergency during the event, you authorise us to seek appropriate first aid or emergency medical assistance where reasonably necessary.
You remain responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result of treatment received.
7. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Participant Terms & Health Declaration excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
Subject to the above, we shall not be liable for:
- Loss or damage to personal belongings brought to the event.
- Losses arising from a participant's failure to follow instructions.
- Losses arising from undisclosed medical conditions or injuries.
- Indirect or consequential losses.
8. Personal Property
Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings at all times.
We do not accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property except where required by law.
9. Photography & Video Recording
Photographs and video recordings may be taken during events for promotional, educational, website, social media, and marketing purposes.
By attending the event, you consent to the use of images or recordings in which you may appear.
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify us in writing before the event and identify yourself to the organiser on arrival. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
10. Tickets, Refunds & Transfers
Tickets are non-refundable except where required by law or where otherwise stated by us.
If you are unable to attend, any request to transfer your ticket to another person or future event is at our sole discretion.
No refunds will be provided for non-attendance.
11. Circumstances Beyond Our Control
We shall not be liable for any delay, cancellation, or failure to perform our obligations where caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe weather
- Natural disasters
- Government restrictions
- Public health emergencies
- Venue closures
- Industrial disputes
- Utility or transport disruptions
12. Privacy & Data Protection
Any personal information provided during the booking process will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

13. Governing Law
These Participant Terms & Health Declaration shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
